Remind me what happened the last time Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire? And let's not pretend like MAGAtards haven't developed a genuine hatred for Ukraine and a genuine love for Russia, even a year ago you had Tucker Carlson interviewing Putin and fawning over Russia. As a white supremacist first and foremost, it blows my fricking mind that r-slurred boomercons have been duped into supporting Putin sending hundreds of thousands of his men to die for nothing and blame it on the invaded country

Ukraine was saved from collapse and there was peace for 8 years until they decided to request to join NATO.

Russia wasn't ready to invade in 2014, their army was a mess, they built it up over those 8yrs, did tons of training exercises and got experience in Syria

They were 100% wanting to do it during the civil war when Ukraine would have collapsed easy but held back

Russia didn't really want to invade in 2022 either, but then Ukraine applied to join NATO, which is one of the few red lines Russia has.

They didn't apply to NATO until after the war?

Also it was formal Ukraine policy to not want to join NATO since 2010 and they didn't change their position until Russia invaded Crimea in 2014

NATO, specifically Germany and France, had also pushed back on them joining since 2008 to placate Russia. That policy didn't change until 2022 post invasion

No. Ukraine held elections, and the president who won didn't want to side with NATO and liked Russia. So, all the leftoids and far rightoids protested and shut down the capital. Eventually, the government started shooting people to clear them out, so more joined the protest, and their democratically elected president was deposed. You even had the likes of John Kerry and other US politicians going to the crowd and essentially saying, yes yes sow more chaos.

It's not surprising how Russia reacted to what is essentially a coup.

>essentially a coup

no, that's the democratic political form of civil disobedience. annexing a country is far more similar to a coup then the people protesting something they don't like.

Maybe "applied" was the wrong word to use, but Zelenskyy approved a new national security strategy in 2020, whose goal was membership in NATO. Then they started participating in NATO exercises and in 2021, during the Brussels summit, NATO clearly stated that they intend to have Ukraine join them.

Also it was formal Ukraine policy to not want to join NATO since 2010 and they didn't change their position until Russia invaded Crimea in 2014

Which they only did after Ukraine illegally ousted their pro-Russian president because he refused to sign a deal with the EU in favor of a deal with Russia.

NATO, specifically Germany and France, had also pushed back on them joining since 2008 to placate Russia. That policy didn't change until 2022 post invasion

As I said, the Brussels 2021 summit clearly stated that they plan on Ukraine joining them.

So you are saving them from dying in war by making them surrender?

There are valid reasons to be against sending arms, but the one you present sounds r-slurred.
