US spent 50 years in Afghanistan and accomplished nothing. War is hard when you have to play the geopolitics game at the same time. In a total war situation with the gloves off, Ukraine would be glassed in minutes.

The US never controlled more than a small fraction of the country. Their men were getting picked off all over the place by children with slingshots. It was a failure on every level except in tbe eyes of the MIC.

In an actual war the U.S. could have leveled the entire country in a week. We were playing a counterterrorism game against people blending in with civilians and western moralities, combined together you have no idea who the enemy is, and since you can't hurt the heckin civilians aiding the people killing you, with some possibly being combatants themselves, we were in this position of having people killed in hit and runs for over a decade.
