Not only that, but each state has its own election laws, so just adding up the vote from different systems makes little sense. Like a state might say, we should let felons or 16-year-olds or whatnot have the vote, not because we think that this is a good idea but because it gives us more power relative to other states.

However I support the electoral college because I genuinely believe that most Americans are too stupid to be allowed to vote and Mob Rule is the worst aspect of democracy, as the Founding Fathers wisely knew.

It's similar to a parliament elects a prime minister who acts as chief executive. People who you elect to vote.
Honestly they should require all parties to have their Primary elections 49.99% weighted by superdelegates with the popular vote merely confirming it.
Dems tell their voters what's best for them while Republicans literally let any r-slur in the door.
