Yeah Gumball himself is in "calarts" style because many of the characters are references to different styles of animation and he is one of those. Of all the CN cartoons Gumball at least puts in a bare minimum of effort

The main characters are usually depicted in a CalArts style, so unfortunately it got labeled with it. Shows that the art style itself isn't the problem, lazy low quality slop is.
