Answer: it's thinly veiled propaganda.
Either grassroots spreading of awareness, or astroturfed spin doctoring, or some combination of the two; depending on the politics of who you ask.
Reddit's voting system rewards people for posting polarizing and political topics so, if the moderators allow it, EVERY sub becomes a debate on American national politics.

Apparently people are acting like they were born yesterday and don't understand that politicians such as republicans lie and use misleading rethoric for some reason. Can someone explain why?
