Republicans Pretend that social security will still be solvent if you get rid of the tiny % of fraud, the reality is that gov will have to cut benefits or raise taxes to pay for it. More generally, we have to decide whether we're going to continue shoveling more money to olds with an aging population.

Actual projection if they do nothing to change the system is they might need to cut benefits by like 20-25%. Huge cut but not a full elimination by any means, and I'd put good money on them simply raising the tax rate a percent or two instead.
