How tf is a metal fan complaining about changing tempos? I'm guessing you hate Tool and Primus too. (659)

Queen are a band when you get a bunch of highly talented, sophisticated, and educated individuals together. Probably why they are regarded as one of the best bands to have ever existed due to the genius of songs like Bohemian Rhapsody. The fact that it is layered and branches a few genres so effortlessly, along with its sale numbers, proves that, objectively, it is one of the best song ever produced. (76)

Absolutely r-slurred since metal has tons of tempo, theme, and time signature changes. He's totally a Metallica fan who only likes the lame portion of their music (90s onwards).

!metalheads again, hot take incoming, the big four is
ranked as follows:
Megadeth>Slayer>Metallica>Anthrax
Personal taste but @Its_Bixxy_B-word will only listen too Metallica's first two albums, anthrax is probably better objectively based on this metric but @Its_Bixxy_B-word don't like the call and response punk lyrics thing they do, it's ok in Type O Negative but @Its_Bixxy_B-word can't stand it here

My hot take is removing Anthrax and installing Testament or Exodus (โฆbut TB4 label was about commercial popularity and not actually pioneering thrash, so it doesn't really matter anyway
)

Beautiful lineup
I haven't been to a good thrash show since I saw Kreator when they were touring over here; I wanted to go to
the KotT tour but I was bogged down with shit to do
Covid and classes fricked up my concert schedule and I still haven't recovered

I hear you bb, the last big metal show I saw was almost two years ago, Bongzilla
. Elder is coming here pretty soon though, might go to that. I saw them in 2022 and it was pretty lit
@Its_Bixxy_B-word saw Sunn O))) in late 2022, that was kickass; wall of amps, strobes, smoke machine, the works. Highly recommended, even if you're not a big fan. I'll send you some vids in DM if you're interested

Anthrax had three killer albums, Exodus two, Testament one. Four from Anthrax if you count Speak English or Die.
The rest is one or two good songs per album sprinkled between filler, Anthrax can stay.

I'll give you that Atrocity Exhibition wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but Bonded by Blood, Fabulous Disaster, and Persona non Grata are classics.
What's your only Testament pick? New Order? Legacy?

Dukes era could have been one killer album instead of three so so albums, too many songs are far too long for what they pack...Modern Maiden has the same issue.
New Zetro albums have some shining moments but I cannot stand his voice post Tempo, I'm glad he got the boot again a month ago.
For Testament it's Legacy yea, the latter albums lean way too much into cheese. Tho I forgot to mention The Gathering, that one cuts sharp.
Had it been released by Slayer in the 90s it would have been regarded much more highly, underservedly underrated album.
I like Dark Roots as well but it's not a classic.

@Its_Bixxy_B-word is heavily biased towards Megadeth since they were @Its_Bixxy_B-word's first @Its_Bixxy_B-word heard of the big 4, but Slayer had some great tracks even later in their career
I've only listened to Metallica through the black album, so I haven't seen how gay they get. I've heard it gets really bad

Don't bother, Metallica got a little carried away after the Napster fiasco; they got so pissed they recorded an album of nothing but harsh noise banging on trash cans and oil drums in an act of protest. I think they called it "St. Anger" !metalheads

Ive never really listened to metallica but apparently st anger is so bad that when i saw them at a festival hetfield said it was gonna make up half their set as a joke

I think if you're ranking them at their peaks only, it's Metallica > Slayer > Megadeth > Anthrax. Puppets and Reign In Blood are perfect albums. But I'd agree with your rankings over the course of their careers. Metallica has put out some ok stuff, as well as some real stinkers, but nothing truly great since the 80's and I honestly never thought Anthrax were better than mid. I don't think Megadeth's high water mark (Rust In Peace) is as high as the others but, aside from Risk, they've been insanely consistent, and have done so while maintaining a much higher output than their peers.

Switch Slayer and Megadeth, at least higher peaks with Slayer IMO
Anthrax is a weird band, they're the nerdy storytellers of the bunch, really weak technically, basically no memorable riffs, the whole band just works to support the singer who, unlike many thrash vocalists can actually sing.
