Pizzashill and Dems are r-slurred and are going to keep miscalling this early every chance they get, but a trade war and the deregulation are not going to go well through all 4 years unless dementia daddy-R is bluffing super hard. He and his admin are already dropping "things will be hard at first" lines. It may be true that if we stick to the plan there would be a golden age of American independence, but it won't happen in 4 years even if things go perfectly, and Trump is not playing 4D chess, so it's not going to go perfectly. Voters on voting day do not give a shit about The Plan. They care about how things are going right now.
It's possible things will get really lucky for DDR and Dems manage to find impossible ways to frick up, but odds are against it.

We already had a trade "war" from 2016 too 2020 (to current with Biden keeping some of the tariffs), and what happened? A minor net loss on US manufacturing. Inflation peaked at 2.4% in 2018 (and hit 8% in 2022 mainly because of r-slurred stimulus). It wasn't much of a war, too be quite honest.

you're not wrong about Drumpf's trade controversies, but my counterargument is assuming that the Dems have a high floor. They have an uncanny ability to shoot themselves in the foot no matter what.
Based on precedent, I would assume that Newsom's center pivot won't have a successful effect on the party, or you'd get a civil war that isn't productively solved by the next election. In the latter scenario, the wokies/commies could either win, or they'd lose at an immense cost to the reasonable faction, which would go on to lose the election and feed the wokies/commies for another cycle.
