That's not really what I'm asking, I'm asking how you asses if your investment is good. Over time most investments make money so a profit isn't really a good benchmark.
For example I just buy ETFs, my benchmarks are the indexes that the various ETFs track and I will almost always slightly underperform the benchmark due to small fees and timing. If a ETF had significantly different returns then I'd know it was a bad investment compared to what I wanted.

I'm not an investor, I gamble. I went all in on amazon at 85 a share because I assumed that amazon was worth way more than 85 a share, being up 130% is what I'd just call a good investment.
nvidia is just something I've gambled on, the money probably would have been better used in VOO or something.

Around late 2023 I decided I'll be a little more patriotic than before and instead of putting my savings into SP500, I decided I'm going to be a little patriotic (and also thinking the AI bubble is going to burst in 2024 and not wanting to blow the bubble
) and put my money into EU stocks, half into defence companies, half into STOXX 50 . I put roughly 15k into it since and haven't checked it since early january, my portfolio is up like 400%.

No, like I said first I was just buying EU ETFs because US general ETFs were overloaded with tech/AI companies and I expected them to fall.
Then in 2024 I expected Trump to win, because it was brutal of incumbents and as trumps first r-slurred statements came out about Ukraine, Europe etc and seeing dramatards here and chuds on twitter gloating about it. I was mostly convinced burgers are r-slurred and I loaded up on german and some some french defence companies.
My thinking was chuds and Trump are r-slurred who are driven by ideology and 'owning the libs', failing to understand that among other things, two-thirds of EUs defense spending goes to the US. My last giant purchase was in December, when Trump tweeted about Greenland and seeing the unironic positive reaction to it, I was completely convinced Trump was truly r-slurred and put my yearly bonus (not much tbh like 2.5k lmao, eastern europoor wages) into Rheinmetall.
Unfortunately I didn't put anything into my portfolio in February, because I bought a new PC. If I just waited I could've bought a 5090.
Thank you chuds. Please implement that 25% traffic too, I still have some tech puts that expire in May from a year ago.
