Idk where Burgers got the idea that NATO is a selfless charity operation. If you think that Germany, France and the England arming themselves to the teeth and then needing to find some way to justify all that spending is in the long term interest of America or the world you are really stupid.
Germany shot its own economy in the foot to try and support the war America instigated, because under this arrangement America calls the shots. I would say by all means give up that leverage and let China run the show, but I'm a little worried by the fact that a heavily armed Europe already caused two world wars.
