Good, we can go back to the Sensible Adults In the Room who made use 100% dependent on microchips made in or around a hostile totalitarian dictatorship that hates us, finacialized everything making assets unaffordable, turned the middle class into a serf-like renter-class, and made it so our economical is balanced on importing third-worlders to do low-wage work for hedge funds

any consumer/advanced economy is going to thrive on low cost imports lmao, we can't possibly produce enough to meet consumer demand in America, the work force for something like that doesn't even exist.

and we didn't do the microchip stuff, we just lost, they were better at it than we were lmao.

the economy performed better under those people than it is now.

I'd rather goods become more expensive and real property less so.

it's not that the goods just become more expensive, it's that they won't exist lmao.

Not for Chinese wages. However, many Americans, rather than being a minimum wage shelf stocker, with the advancement opportunity of becoming Chief Shelf Stocker (56k salary, no OT, 60 hours per week), would choose to work in a factory that paid better. With automation and decreased regulatory burden, American factories could compete with imports, particularly at mid-quality and above. Americans used to work in factories and were happy doing so until we cut them off at the knees by shipping their jobs to the third world, just like Americans used to do roofing and landscaping before we stabbed them in the back by importing third worlders to undercut their wages
