Reddit now bans people for upmarseying wrongthink. Mods worry that wrongthink laws don't go far enough

:marseytroublemaker: One person new to reddit complained on this post about how insane this is. I told him I was investigating him for "thoughts of misinformation" and he deleted his account

See? I told you Redditors would love upmarsey policing. They already think it isn't going far enough. :marseyhmmhips:

As a full-time Reddit Moderator I find it disgusting, frankly, that voting information is kept hidden from us.

We need to be able to better police our communities, and we know for a fact that we're harbouring bigots who upmarsey hateful content and downmarsey Moderator posts. These people need to be banned from our communities and tracked around Reddit in general by our anti-hate operatives based in /r/ahs.

As a computer expert I know full-well that it's a simple job to write a query that shows us which users are voting on what posts, so I must conclude that the only reason Reddit has yet to furnish us with this information is because they either don't trust us or don't value our labour - both of which are of course preposterous.

We need to get serious: I propose strike action. If we don't get voting reports by the end of the year, we should show Reddit the value of our service by refusing to moderate our subs for 1 (one) hour on the first of January 2026. Then we'll see who really runs things around here.

Who's with me?

They've been banning people for that since /r/the_donald plastered Trump's face all over the front page.
