This idea that Americans tolerate Nazis seems kind of just inaccurate to me. Sure, we don't put Nazis in jail for being Nazis. But being an open Nazi would generally cause an American to become an almost unemployable social pariah. We don't have any Nazi party that gets anything more than like 0.05% of the vote. If a guy goes out to the bar and tells the people there "hey guys, by the way, I think being a Nazi is pretty cool", the people there are probably not going to toast the Nazi, they're probably going to get weirded out.

People aren't saying they don't exist, they're saying they have no political power and exist in small, obvious numbers that most people actively dislike. Even the racist groups aren't 100% white, even if they promote white supremacy.
This is versus the argument that half the country are Nazis because Republican = Nazi = Tesla cars = violence is deserved. These people aren't going after the Aryan Brotherhood, they're currently going after cars and drivers who they would have supported a year ago.
There will always be bad people, but there's a categorisation error when half of America are considered part of the KKK when in some cases their alleged bigotry comes from owning a specific brand of electric car.

your mostly right. its much more behind the wall then outside. but the beliefs do still go around in rural communities. idk i think most people here dont spend any time talking to poor people white or black. theres such a huge gap between college educated people ideas and those who arent. also there's not much news on hells angels or any motorcycle clubs but i can absolutely promise you they are still relevant. the police just like em.

This irritates the heck out of me. Getting told that I'm so heartless by people who would never stoop so low as to having a 10 minute conversation with the guy who made their sandwich at Subway because they're too good for him.
There was that one big case a few years ago so I know they're out there, but they're a mystery to me. I wouldn't even know anyone who knows them. And yeah, they've got some weird relationship with the cops where they're heavily infiltrated but don't get shut down.
