I will be honest with you guys, I kinda understand where he is coming from to a certain extent, because from his perspective there is no real discrimination against blacks right now, and so he is mocking the things that he believes no longer matter. The black Klansman thing aligns with his statement of "the black slaves should have freed themselves" that he has made in the past.

I consider this less Kanye being schizo ( The BPD gives Kanye the confidence to follow through it doesn't give him this new crazy idea. The idea was already there. ), and more Kanye's individualism and belief in black people being on equal footing crashing against the American social beliefs and group opinions in current year.

The very fact that in America you can expect many people to see this strong social value disagreement as proof of mental illness rather than a difference of values itself is concerning and to me suggests a pit/ darkness in the American mental health experience, where officially mental illness is associated with being unable to function in society, but in practice is translating into having the wrong opinion which will end up with people denouncing you.

At some point in the direction the system is headed, disagreement outside the social overton window itself becomes a form of mental illness. Kanye has to be mentally ill because normal people wouldn't hold this opinion in America.

This is the US further turning into a third world nation in its social output, where anything not related to the current cultural norms is treated as a disease and the concept of just being harmlessly strange no longer exists. Everything and everyone has to fit within the overton window or something is wrong with the people, not the narrow discussion space claimed to be the only viable space.

In a way it might even be a good thing to have things like Kanye in black face, because it helps weaken the current overton window for what topics can be discussed and forces people to have to deal with new opinions and ideas outside of opinions they agree with and opinions they already disagree with because that's what the other side believes, and forces people to interact with new ideas that haven't reached the American zeitgeist yet, and also aren't first pushed through and sanitized via government/ official channels.

The real crazy news isn't that Kanye West is in a Klansman costume, it is that Kanye West by doing so may indeed be closer to true individuality than any other American currently alive, and may have ended up being the realist person in all of America, not controlled by any political opinion or group consensus.

America is currently in a state of insanity where a black man putting on a black klansman costume is a sign of some extreme activity, whereas it should be signifying an opening of the discussion of whether or not enough time has passed by for the Klansmen to become irrelevant to modern day discourse and the Klansmen adjacent groups have lost enough power that they should be treated as an irrelevance with even black people able to wear black hoods and it not mattering. A discussion about how long people should be clutching their pearls over the past and at what point they can let go.

At worst, Kanye's great crime in wearing the black Klansman costume, is that he stopped caring about the issue of Klan violence before the average American did.

At best, Kanye has opened up a space for third opinions to begin emerging, opinions that have no connection to what the news says, or what the government is discussing, or what your in group or out group approves of. Individual opinions rather than just individual lives with group think controlling all flow.

I love sucking peepee because @Cathedral has a gay Indian s*x fetish.

I can kinda get what you mean but ultimately I think it's mostly about control. Kanye hates the idea that someone can tell him what to do so he rejects that by being as ostentatious as he possibly can whenever he can. He realizes people will ultimately not really care after awhile so he wants to see how far he can push it.
