Context: In the past couple days, there have been mass layoffs (a.k.a., reduction in force, or RIFs) at the Department of Health and Human Services. 
The cuts are fast and hard 
, and don't appear to follow a clear pattern 
. Thousands of employees who've been coasting in cushy, low-stress, overprotected jobs for most of their lives are suddenly waking up to find out they will get the hammer with less than an hour of notice , or sometimes even kicked out at the entrance. 
Union contracts have been ripped up and executives, lawyers, and contractors are getting thrown out, too. In summary, it's a total bloodbath. 
Obviously, given the timing, this presents a great opportunity to make a cool and funny joke. 
But redditors apparently can't even take a joke. How stuck-up can one be?
