A hospital in L.A. run by black people for the majority black local area. It was known as "Killer King" because its endemic corruption, negligence, and incompetence kept killing patients.

Staff ignored people as they lay dying on the floor. Sick and injured people fled from ambulances if the closest hospital was Killer King.

When the County tried to clean house, activists raised heck to keep the deadly status quo. Eventually, though, it was shut down and replaced.

Give this a read. It's fascinating and awful.
