You know these people don't understand 'on average' at all. It's the same way they fail to grasp or deny 'per capita'.

And even if you explain it as 'if you take the same amount of individuals from x and y groups, data suggests that members of x are more likely to do z compared to y assuming a fair distribution of x and y' they STILL can't understand.

It's maddening as a stats/ stats adjacent guy.
