I don't have any ferret pictures so here are deer
Anyway I was at Petco for (reasons) last weekend and spent like 20 minutes playing with the ferrets
The girl there advised very strongly not to buy a ferret. They can get bitey, the house always smells like ferret, they chew everything. She says she's never buying a ferret again. Don't care about the biting, smell can presumably be addressed with essential oils, candles, Glade plug, whatever, I just won't have it near anything it shouldn't be chewing.
Convince me not to buy a ferret please.

Only downside is the smell, as everyone complains. It seems like everything in the weasel family smells like shit. Wolverines (which are just big weasels) are called stink bears. Honey badgers stun their enemies with their butt odor. Etc.
The weird upside to that odor is that you'll never ever ever have a mouse or rat problem in your house. Rodents hate the smell of ferrets, presumably because they see ferrets as predatory.
