Let me tell you this-- /r/Drama is one of the most malevolent, cruel, coldhearted online communities you'll ever find, and even as a supporter of free speech it appalls me that Cloudflare would allow such a vile, festering hub of bigotry and sadism to exist. You think [slur]town was bad? That subreddit, if you pick up on the dog-whistles (and many don't even bother with that-- say want you want about Stormfront, at least it bans "n[slur]"), will reveal itself to you as Reddit's number one hub for the web's most hardened Nazis, Klansmen, Fascists, and G*mergaters. You'll notice on the sidebar that it encourages members to be as dramatic as possible. That's intentional. They encourage arguments in the comments section. That's intentional. You know the Three Minute Hate (it's from this underrated book 1985, give it a read, it's scary how much it parallels our society)? It's like that, they want to stoke the flames of reactionary rage so they continue to dogpile every progressive and minority who enters the subreddit, normalizing these evil feelings. They brigade from subreddit to subreddit, having an entire cabal of mods spanning hundreds of communities, gaslamping lived experiences of the oppressed and unashamedly bolstering Reddit's homegrown white supremacy movement. They've kink-shamed hundreds of people too, some even... to death. I fear that /r/drama may be producing an entire army of Dylann Roofs and Elliot Rogers, and I highly suggest that nobody dares visit that horrible subreddit, lest you potentially fall victim to its corruptive aura.

Help me make sense of my 13 year olds behavior.

History of SMI (severe mental illness), SH (self harm), SI (suicide ideation), SA (suicide attempt). Previously diagnosed with ODD (oppositional defiant disorder), assumed to be in remission. Current diagnosis of depression.

Ok, so. My son has a history of doing... odd things. When he was 8 or 9 he would piss in the bathroom trash can and/or sink. I have no idea why and had long conversations with him about it and the behavior eventually stopped.

He once... wiped.. his butt... with step dads bar of soap.. leaving behind.. poo.. when he was like 10 or 11.

So you get the gist.. He also does stuff like taking things apart, without asking. Cutting up produce, for no reason other than to do it, then throwing it away. And so on.

The other day him and his brother were washing dishes. Brother went to the restroom. Mind you, we have 2 bathrooms. We also have a camera in the kitchen, mainly to keep an eye on the weird maintenance man when he comes unannounced.

My partner happened to be watching the camera, while putting the youngest to bed.

While my 13 year old was alone in the kitchen he... pissed in the dish water.

I was too shocked to confront my son about the incident straight away, so I waited until morning.

When asked, why, his response was, "Because I'm (his name)."

So.. I try to look at things from the perspective of "it's not about what you did, but why you did it."

I ask more questions and the answers I get are, "No. I wasn't going to tell anyone." "No. I wasn't going to use the dishes myself." "No. I don't really care." And thankfully, "Yes. This is the first time I've ever done that."

I'm stumped. Wtf. My son and I, and all my kids have a good open relationship. He wasn't mad at anyone at the time. And the fact that he wasn't going to tell anyone mostly rules out that it was attention seeking.

Now I'm just freaked out. Wondering what other gross shit he's done and just "not told anyone" about.
