Redditors are surprisingly angry about it. Much less surprisingly, they are angry that it will make tracking problematic users harder in their eternal quest to do as much as possible for absolutely no salary whatsoever.

This is my favorite comment -

This is extremely important. Context matters a lot when moderating and allowing users to destroy it is very problematic. Agree is should be pulled from public view, strong disagree it should be pulled from moderator view.

I wanna say that Reddit's suicide is continuing, but let's be real, that'd be a cope. The site is like what World of Warcraft was to online gaming until 2016 or so: no matter how hard it sucks, it's so huge that no competitor wants to face it.

To be fair, you need to be a turbo neurodivergent 24/7 online to come even close to Bardfinn. He recently revealed how he finds based subs and he actually just clicks on user profiles on r/PCM until he fins something lmao. https://www.reddit.com/r/AgainstHateSubreddits/comments/nzl0a2/comment/h1qccpy

Yeah. As much as Bardfinn is scum, he's not an idiot. If he's saying that's how he finds then I'd guess it's a cover for methods that might violate reddit TOS or US privacy law. (E.g. a bot looking through user comments and posts for heckin problematic keywords.) He does have a Comp Sci degree.

insiders who have to remain anonymous

Hahahhahahahahahhahaha

Hahhahahahahahahahah

How in the frick is this person real? What intense trauma is this man trying to keep off his mind? How in the frick is that real?

He's like those homeless people using their fingernails to pull out the scum from between the sidewalk. Passersby don't notice the scum, they acknowledge that the scum will just come back, and they really feel terrible for this poor soul hunched over making so much work for himself for no reason.
