He's right, mostly. If you want to actually survive then you should have already trained in an actual military and in a combat MOS. They keep responding with "well Zelensky said..." yeah of course he's going to take any volunteers because the truth is there's a good chance of them losing Kyiv. And when they likely take Kyiv you won't be fighting DNR conscripts driving logistics vehicles. You'll most likely be fighting Russian infantry who are trained in urban warfare. If you surrender or get captured, Russia isn't known for treating enemy POWs well. Torture is common and summary executions aren't unknown since 2014. It isn't a coincidence that Russia travels with mobile cremation vehicles. A well-trained company can hold off a regiment of poorly trained attackers in a city. A poorly trained company gets surrounded and their bodies get disappeared.
Here are hot takes from COD heroes disagreeing with him and my highly intellectual commentary in response:
Would you tell that to the soldiers at the Alamo? General Washington give up your fight! Innocent Ukrainians are being slaughtered and you give cowardly advice to people that are willing to die for a justifiable cause. Stand your ground!
lol
After that, expect to die. People whoa re dead fight the hardest. If you couldn't handle your combat experience I am sorry.
lol wut
Donβt let anyone tell you what wars you can and canβt fight in.
yeah dad
"I'm an infantry veteran of fallujah and ramadi and I'm still questioning my qualifications"
Lol! This post is pure propaganda. The truth is in modern wars like this, you and your squad need to overwhelm the enemy with firepower and whoever makes the enemy squad retreats wins. It's a firepower battle, you just need to shoot in their direction while talking good cover. You won't he riding tanks, you won't he sniping enemies from a thousand meters. Now of course , you can still get hit, high possibility as there would intense firefights. You also need to be fit and have the courage/morale to fight. But to say that you need to be a decorated war veteran is false. Volunteers can do just as well or better than recruited army soldiers. Type on YouTube "Ukraine soldier guarding bridge has only fired 16 rounds in his life". Many here shoot more rounds than that on an average sunday afternoon.

Doesnβt take much of a brain cell to fire a weapon at a opposing enemy thatβs attempting to take your freedom. Tell that statement to the Scottish fighters with pitchforks against the Kingsmen, or the colonies farmers and their simple hunting muskets. 10 plus years prior, and private contract here.

I would imagine these are the same people who are too scared to travel during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC
So how are they going to get there?

SEMPER FI, REDDIT BROS, I'M OFF TO HECKIN' WAR: I have decided I can no longer sit idly by and watch the events unfolding in Ukraine!! As a non-binary, fully vaccinated, immunocompromised professional dog walker with no military experience, I believe I can be of great help to our Ukrainian friends!!
DON'T TRY TO TALK ME OUT OF IT. I've already booked my plane ticket, packed my masks, and kissed my chonker bean Mittens VIII farewell. There is plenty of lasagna in his foodbowl and I have asked my extremely elderly neighbour to check in on him periodically while I am away fighting the Great War. I should be back before Christmas if all goes well. Putler is on the ropes, and I am coming to deliver the final blow to his stupid Russian face.
Though I am severely immunocucked and burst into tears at the slightest provocation or micro-aggression thrown my way, I will NOT be a hinderance or liability to the proud people of Ukraine. I have many useful qualities. I can cook lasagna for the troops and look after the heckin' attack puppers when they're resting after a hard day's work. My anti-vax chud brother scoffed at me when I Zoom called him in full military fatigue (with my personal pronouns stitched onto the lapel) and informed him it was my patriotic duty as a Welsh person to go across the World and fight for Ukraine.
The fricking bastard begged me not to go and spewed pro-Putin propaganda (thankfully my big brain is impervious to propaganda of any kind) at me, telling lies about how I will just be used as a meat shield for the actual soldiers and that I'm itching to die and for shit to go nuclear after two years of "pissing the bed about a meme-virus". I ended the call, slamming the lid of my laptop shut, shattering the screen in the process.
Covid is still a massive concern for me despite being fully vaccinated and boosted, and I am fully aware that many Ukrainian folx are unvaccinated (it's not their fault, they just didn't have as many jabs to go around and they're not very bright people, I will educate them). Therefore, I will not be taking my mask off for the duration I am in Ukraine, and I will be passing around N95s like candy. Just because you're getting shot at by heckin' Russians doesn't mean you should leave yourself open and vulnerable to Covid microdroplets.
