Setting yourself up with the same (and potentially greater) level of convenience requires basic technical proficiency.
Getting the right NAS, hard drives, setting up plex with remote access, and actually building and manitaining the library is not a very costly or difficult project
But most people have trouble turning on their own PC, let alone handling any amount of networking or data management.

The problem with putlocker or watchmovies or whatever the frick is that you have to keep up with the wack-a-mole of sites getting shut down and replaced.
Even with Kodi repisitories you have to keep up with manual updates and forks (at least in my experience).

Torrents + private tracker + seedbox is a great combo. Been doing that for about 10 years now.
The downside is that you have to be active on multiple trackers. Otherwise, if your tracker goes down then you're kinda screwed.

I'm fixing to get my NAS outta the closet and get it set up with a Plex server.
Looking for a way for it to automatically pull down torrents of new shows let me know.

The standard setup is with Plex (or Jellyfin if you're freetarded) for playback, then something like sonarr for acquiring shows and radarr for movies, and something like qbittorrent-headless for the downloading. It's kind of a clusterfrick because there are some redundant features (e.g., having sonarr/radarr do metadata vs having plex do it) Use docker or proxmox to glue it all together a bit better.

I swear the only reason piracy has lasted as long as it has is because it's relatively niche. Seriously, no one in my family pirates because they're all terrified of getting arrested or viruses or have no idea what a "torrent" is.
