r/TransTeachers: Epilogue

Someone give me an established Reddit account on the dl. 3+ months old, >500 karma. Iโ€™ll only use it on a vm or an old phone to avoid my hardware bans. I will demonstrate how to make a bait sub that isnโ€™t fricking r-slurred later this week.

This is cool and all but I'd just like to remind everyone that carp didn't call shit, like it was really obvious that you guys were being really dumb about it to anyone with any modicum of social skills

The right way to post bait is let merari, belleariel et al become moderators then post bait. It's a form of art to mix bait, sincerity and technical jargon (which leddit loves) seamlessly.

If you let only rdrama approved r-slurs to post it will devolve into a pit of "hurr durr bardfinn beats his wife by /u/:marseytrain:BIPOC1488"

If you moderate it very strictly it will become a circlejerk of the same post over and over again (r/macmilleraward) and never get off of the ground.

/r/TransParentTransKid would have remained being memory holed because the social media zeitgeist really thought it was unironic, until the truth came out and then it soared. If there is any lesson it's that the bait should be subtle(better if no bait at all, just plain unironic simping for whatever the sub is), the moderators should be credible powerjannies, the rules should be enforced by those powerjannies and finally never even mention rdrama, or mention the sub here.

Honestly the best type of baiting is to start a sub out unironically, and don't even get Dramneurodivergents involved until the sub has been going for a while. When you do get them involved, don't mention that you mod the sub, just say something like "Hey, wouldn't this be a nice sub to troll?"

For example, here's how Transteachers could have been done better.

  1. Dramneurodivergent starts up the transteachers sub. Put a few non-bait posts up to make it seem more authentic.

  2. Post in several trans subs to increase the number of sincere participants. "Hi, I'm a trans teacher and I started a sub just for us. Are there any teachers or allies of trans teachers in this community who might be interested in joining?"

  3. Invite the Dramneurodivergents on rdrama. Do not mention that you run the sub. Just say "Hey, look at this Transteachers sub. I think we could really have some fun baiting them."

  4. Dramneurodivergents flock in and start baiting.

  5. When the rdrama op gets called out (ie, somebody links to the rdrama post) you express shock as a mod to your bait sub and vow to do everything necessary to "get things back under control." In reality, you start arbitrarily banning the sincere redditors, claiming that you recognize them as rdrama trolls from their posting history or saying that they accidentally responded to a post with an alt. Start creating a Stalinesque environment of uncertainty and paranoia. For example, falsely tell one of your members that another member privately accused them of being an rdrama troll. For privacy reasons, you can't say exactly who, but you can hint at it a little. (This works best if they have recently had an argument with somebody on your forum.) Or pin public mod messages explaining the types of Wrongthink behaviors to watch out for as potential signs of an rdrama troll, and gradually add to the Wrongthink list, making it longer and longer. Occasionally post public messages praising random users for secretly reporting rdrama operatives to the mod team, helping make this a "Stasi safe space" for people who truly want to "do the work" required in "social justice activism."

  6. This has two effects. First, you are raising rdrama's profile, because the people who have been banned since they were falsely accused of being dramneurodivergents naturally want to check out rdrama to see what it is all about. Secondly, you are sowing chaos and mistrust, because anybody could be one of those nefarious rdrama agents. The sub itself may collapse, but the long-term impact of your work will generate seethe for years afterwards.

The reason I recommend this methodology is because it silos information more effectively, allowing our operations to remain undetected. We can't rely on Country Club to be a secure forum anymore, no matter how thoroughly you try to vet people. The more people know about a secret, the harder it is to keep it secret. That is why a more rigorous approach is to encourage dramneurodivergents to participate in your sub without even mentioning that the entire sub is bait. After the op is over and the bait sub has morphed into a steaming garbage fire, you can do a write-up of the entire OP on rdrama so that we can admire your cleverness and also learn from your op. My point is just that now that rdrama has reached a critical mass of people, our ops need an additional layer of secrecy that can only be achieved through information silos.

Anyway, this is just my recommendation. I think you're all doing great work here, so I hope this doesn't come off as criticism. I'm just trying to offer some useful tips to help rdrama live up to its full potential.

If you do all of this then you have no right of laughing at jannies for being jannies for free

Yeah, no shit, that's why I could use some help building a Dramneurodivergent AI. Picture this beautiful vision of the future: no more of this tedious prep work for the perfect bait sub. Instead you just give snappy a key phrase or sentence - like "transgender teachers supporting kids" and its state-of the art GPT-3 algorithm starts spitting out the endless word salad posts that these delusional people always use to justify their grooming and victim complexes. Then, you just wait for more normies to join the sub over time. You could set a RemindMe bot to check on the sub in six months, when your operation is timed to go into action (preferably before a big election or something else that can maximize the dramatic impact of the situation), or if you prefer a more artisanal drama product, simply have several LOLcow farms that your bots are always building, checking on the LOLcows periodically to see when they're ready to be milked.

It won't be so easy. You still need to human to proofread. Still huge increase in efficiency, but even the best AI (which we wouldn't be able to use) is perfect yet.

An idea I could see working would be to put the userbase to work. Have the AI generate a paragraph or even a reddit comment chain, and have users here evaluate it for "realness" either for dramacoin or as a captcha for users that are suspected spammers.

Another though: This task is also likely more difficult than you think. If you really want to make it work, you need an automatic way to created plausible accounts. It's possible, there are some big bot-farm subreddits, but it will be an eternal cat and mouse game that needs constant upkeep.

I'm a speedreader, so I could easily do this. I'm also a former programmer with some project management experience, so I could tweak the parameters of the AI as I discovered mistakes. That's why I'm so excited about the idea of this project: this would be like my dream job. Designing bots to bullshit online in order to become an influence peddler to politicians sounds like an awesome career choice, especially if I got to create massive drama around election time. Shit, most of us create drama for free: imagine getting paid to do it! Election time would become rdrama's favorite time because you wouldn't be able to even read the newspaper without totally cracking up.

Sadly, we currently live in a society of backwards r-slurred primitives where these jobs apparently don't exist, so I might have to try to create this job opening before I can fill it.

If you figure out how to create believable accounts, there exists a black market for that.

You can also definitely sell your services as a troll, but you need some notoriety first. Hillary invested at least 1 million dollars into paid shills during her campaign. Israel also does it in the open. More states may be doing it, but act from the shadows and it would be dubious if they would outsource it and risk leakage of their programs to the public.

Dramanauts are nothing more than a cabbal of internet goblins stirring shit up for my own personal entertainment, to me. That's their sole purpose in life.

Taking away user's ability to CC their own threads didn't help. Nor does giving Merari CC access. Could it be that the rdrama jannies are at fault?

Other possibilities:

Merari has CC accesss, or a local trans got offended and cried to the reddmins / powerjannies.
