I posted some posts there for a while after /r/drama went to shit and I really don't understand it.

I made some posts about a meltdown tronaldodumpo was having across multiple accounts when his main account got banned and everyone was really up for bullying him and it didn't feel too different to /r/drama.

But then in other threads everyone's clutching their pearls so hard and are the biggest moralstrags you could imagine.

I get the impression they don't like drama, they just like being notified that something dramatic has happened so they can complain about it.

So disagree. It is bad.

The strange thing is SRD wasn't this dreadful years ago, at least I don't remember it being.

It went downhill as the mod team became politicised. There was a time when SRD was largely about actual Reddit drama, but it degenerated into political grandstanding and posts along the lines of "someone said something objectionable!".

If you go on there now it's a safe bet that one of the top posts will be complaining that people were allowed to openly disagree with the Reddit-approved agenda on a topic. Someone getting downmarseyd for disagreeing isn't drama, but they'll circlejerk themselves raw nonetheless.
