I don't understand this accusation, tbh. This site was made with a specific mission in mind from the get-go: to quote The Great Capy: "I just want /r/drama without gigajannies". Of course our roots lie in reddit. I'll even tell you a (really poorly kept) "secret" - all the initial /r/drama posters (and 100% of early jannies) were SRDines :marseyshook: escaping from progressively more r-slurred policies of Falc0n and his ilk, back when SRD was still pretty anti-wokie, but getting tamer.

Any attempt to tie us with any other platforms are dumb copes.

He's right. /r/drama was originally a migration of olde srd users that got sick of jannie abuse and smug posting. The SRD you see today is in part as bad as it is, due that schism of users.

It's true. I found my way to /r/drama when it was at like 18k subscribers from SRD. The userbase had a huge crossover until a few years later when SRD became too unbearable for most people.
