Jesus Christ I hate you so fricking much. What's worse is when your company has an r-slured PTO policy in which you lose time not used and there is no pay out policy. This results in everyone scrambling to use their time at the end of the fiscal year. Which means everything grinds to a fricking halt during what should be crunch time.
Just pay people for unused PTO and they'll end up working like dogs.

Yet another win for Australia! Our annual leave (as it is called) rolls over year after year and when you leave your job for whatever reason, it is paid out. Oh, and you get paid an extra 20% on top of your base salary when on annual leave. That's non-negotiable.

Euroshitters will never experience the fun of going on a long road trip with their friends, or they joy of visiting family on the other side of the country. In Euroshitistan, everyone is stacked on top of each other in tiny apartments and houses like an ant hill. They can't afford a car, they can't afford gas, they can't afford a plane ride. They take a bus or a train a few miles, say hello to a friend or relative, then take another one a few more miles to the coast and maybe sit around on the beach and come back.
And then they proclaim that they have it better than Americans. Sad.

At my last job, I had so much work that I didn't want to take vacations because I would fall behind and have a pile of work waiting for me when I came back to work. They had literally nobody who could back me up. I ended up getting totally demoralized and not giving a shit about work at all because they were just putting more and more responsibilities on my plate without any corresponding salary bump.
Eventually they got somebody to "support" me but he was really just there to learn everything I did so they could fire me. They didn't want to say this openly (because corpos always think they're so good at being "sneaky") so I left some small but critical details out of my training plan. After all, if he was only there to "support" me, why train him in tasks that I planned to always do myself?

LMAO @ office workers. I do two weeks of 12 hour shifts straight at a remote site and get rewarded with two weeks off at the end of it. No leave expenditure required and well above average paycheck. This goes on all year round. I didn't even go to uni and spent most of my 20s gayming and cooming. Y'all in shambles.
