i just went to buy a game on steam and saw this wtf

I had this same problem with Assassins Creed Origins and Odyssey. Previous games were about free flow melee combat, but when the games became like RPGs all that mattered was whether the enemy still had their health bar.

Sneed about it, "ohhhh look at me im following this guy for 10 minutes only for a shitty stab animation". Boring and trash. Sales speak for themselves my guy. The games sucked butt before the rpg system.

Good AC was always carried by its story, too. I think they switched to the RPG system because the writing started to get mediocre as the sequelitis continued, and while old-school AC gameplay isn't bad per se, it's not good enough to carry a mediocre story. They just clearly had no idea how to make it an RPG system that still felt like AC, so we got what we got.
