I don't know how much clearer Chad and Chadette could be that they wanted to keep things casual. I mean, they explicitly spelled out that the couple (not the throuple, the couple) is their first priority. That's code for "If my wife doesn't like you, you're gone." It's not even subtext, it's literal text in bold font.
