Scotland Yard launched its own investigation in January 2013 and labelled Savile a "prolific, predatory" s*x offender. The investigation found 214 offences had been committed across 28 police forces between 1955 and 2009. NCPSS research for a Panorama documented confirmed at least 500 reports of abuse by Savile.

A Department of Health investigation found Savile had abused 60 people including at least 33 patients from five-years-old to 75-years-old.
