The evil prince part is calculated to brainwash preteen girls into raging feminists. A children's movie doesn't need a le subversive plot twist like that, if you want to teach how girls don't need no man something like Moana is fine, tho again I don't know why precisely this message has to be hammered into kids, but that plot turn in a kid's movie was downright political. I think there's a reason so many kid's stories for both sexes have protagonist marrying at the end. Even if its just some rando chara who appeared at the end like in snow white. Maybe they want to mimic their parents, maybe its core biological drive IDK. But they're basically trying to break kids out of that.
