One of the things I nooticed is that /r/ukpolitics was extremely negative about the new government for a long time. Practically overnight (and coinciding with Labour's new online initiative) the commentary became much more positive and the sub now hosts a constant stream of anti-Reform party posts.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if the official account is just the tip of the iceberg and they're actively astroturfing Reddit. It's pretty blatant.

UKgov will right in with redditors. Full-on regressive left and authoritarian to the core.

I reckon they're doing this to provoke the rare surviving freethinking redditor into insulting them or expressing wrongthink so they can arrest them.

Unironically a good idea, having a government account that can post information in appropriate subreddits makes sense. Certainly prefer it over the existing methods of outreach.
