It isn't good to lie to them, as one of AA's core values is honesty. The First Step says:

We admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.

The AA Preamble includes:

Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves.

Maybe you could look out for volunteering opportunities, secular or faith-based. It's a good way to meet people while achieving something meaningful.

Speaking of faith-based, if you're even remotely religious, maybe find a nearby church/temple/whatever which suits your tastes. They are always happy for new members.

If you're not, look for groups that share your interests. Photography, hiking, history, books, vidya... there are many out there.

If you could afford it (approx. 75-150 euro yearly membership) just join any high profile society or club that does events for members. I joined an Antiquarian Society just to find fellow spergs to talk about niche history stuff Members get access to all their materials and journals which are just interesting reads on their own.

I joined a Hedgerow Society which paid for members accommodation for a get-away weekend where we drank all night at a bar after spending all day with Foresters and Farmers learning to how to plant native woodland

Read CA in reddit to get your stories stright. Build up character of high functional boozer from there.

Go to church, participate in their activities.

AA people are kinda lame. My friend had to go and got pretty wrapped up in it. He got clean and is running a successful business now, I'm glad he grew out of the AA Christian arc he was in.

This would be a poor life choice. leave them to their cult. You'd be safer going to a church.

Alcoholism is boring. Develop a meth habit and find tweaker chicks in NA. Go for ones that still look decent and seduce them back to crystal. They'll stay skinny and the speed will make them stupidly horny

plus its a fricking cult, i went a few times...guys grabbed my number the first night and started texting me about how hard it was to not take a shot of whiskey at 6am when they first woke up, and instead started praying...

I would double dip - become an actual alcoholic first to make friends then make more in AA
