Don't forget the entire Flower-class of corvettes.

Honestly I'd prefer it to being sank by the U-96 or the U-99.

It was captured and used by West African Squadron to hunt down slavers, sentencing them as pirates :marseytransplushie3: and freeing the slaves.

>The West Africa Squadron seized approximately 1,600 ships involved in the slave trade and freed 150,000 slaves who were aboard these vessels between 1807 and 1860.[18]

They were going to name one of the Flower-class corvettes HMS Pansy but fortunately somebody talked them out of it before it was commissioned.

HMS Terrible

I expected this would be one where they captured a French ship, used it for many years, and then named more ships after it. Like Temeraire or Belliqueux. (WTF does that even mean?) Turns out I was wrong. Then I remember the word had a different meaning in English too back then. Hence "Ivan the Terrible" actually being a compliment.

At a guess, I'd say Belliqueux is the root word of 'belligerent'.
