You shouldn't be able to buy loads of junk food with your EBT card. It makes sense, that should be for necessities.
Who hurt you? You really think that people are just loading up on chips and candy? And, if so, what business is it of yours? As someone who is actually using this incredible assistance program, I can attest to the fact that fresh food is wildly more expensive, and that I also deserve to treat myself if I please. Also, have you considered that some mothers...
I'll never forget when I was a 17yo bagger at a grocery store. Exactly what you imagine a "ghetto queen" looks like had two shopping carts full to the brim of sugarslop. Paid for all of it with 3 different foodstamp debit cards, had me push one cart and pull the other to a then-new Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum and load it all up. Didn't even say thanks. I'm pretty sure that's the moment that made me racist.
In states with bottle deposits it's not uncommon for people to buy soda, immediately return it for the the deposit (sometimes breaking machines by putting in full cans of soda) and then using that money to buy cigarettes or other drugs.
I called the cops on a couple i saw come in, buy multiple 24 packs of soda, and then go into the parking lot and start dumping them out. I've seen it tons of times.
I just checked prices at my local Fred Meyer out of curiosity. You can get a 12 pack of store brand for $4, which is then $5.20 with deposit. I think this works out to like 23 cents on the dollar.
I just realized as I was typing this that I forgot to look at bottled water. You can get a case of 24 for $3.69 or $6.09 after deposit, which would be more like 39 cents on the dollar.
Either way you're a parasite and shouldn't be allowed to buy things with a deposit.
Go to a bottle drop location and you'll find piles of the little white bottle caps from the 24 pack of kroger bottled water. That's from junkies converting their EBT into cash.
My first job when I was 16 was at a chain of convenience stores.
EBT-cels always loaded up on the most insane shit and in my head I was like what the frick. There's a supermarket a quarter mile away go there and get real food.

you get the real food from food banks. Food stamps are for treats. trans lives matter
Ummmm yikes sweetie. Poors hate that shit. They want to eat kale all day, but it's literally impossible for societal reasons. Please educate yourself on food deserts.
pretty much every single adult I've seen claim they're disabled and thats why they can't work full time has some vague BS condition related to migraines lmao.
I got into trouble once at work for calling a 38 year old guy a bum when he refused to work more than 20 hours a week due to his "condition."
Why do people think they should get to treat themselves on the government dole? This is where the west fails next to true communism. If you work, you get to eat and treat yourself. Versus the nonsense modern western society of something for nothing and constantly smudging the edges on what's allowed
Reddit is full of people who think that any sort of expectation on an individual from society is LITERALLY nazism. See also: Sleeping on the subway, mowing your 11" long disgusting lawn, or keeping a BMI under 50.
R-slurred poor fatties hurt my bank account by forcing me to subsidize their stupid dietary choices
You really think that people are just loading up on chips and candy?
Yes.
And, if so, what business is it of yours?
I pay for it.

I can attest to the fact that fresh food is wildly more expensive
It's not if you're not too r-slurred to shop properly
and that I also deserve to treat myself
You don't.
Also, have you considered that some mothers are only able to provide their children birthday cakes because of this amazing program...
Baking a nice and simple cake is cheaper AND tastier than buying one and you can use all the leftover milk and flour and all the other ingredients for cooking later on
Just calculate what living on the bare minimum would cost and hand people money instead so they can buy what they need. I'd be cheaper instead of having a whole bunch of useless administrators who's only job it is to make sure that the right kind of corn-slop gets properly subsidized with the correct voucher.
Like Jesus christ, using stamps to give people their alotment of food? What kind of war time Soviet nonsense is that? Just use money. Capitalism lmao

I like the explicit, almost verbatim example here of the classic "that doesn't happen, and if it does it doesn't matter". Really concise, two sentences; it ought to be framed.
These people shouldn't have choice we need to go back to basic food and and hand out blocks of dyed cheese, bread flour and vegetables and told to cook.
You will never have a real eating disorder. You have no angst. No delusion. No compulsion. You are a skinny person twisted by self-improvement and health into a crude mockery of true thinness.
