I think I've realized most restaurants are a scam. 
It makes sense to buy cheap food (fast food, bars), or very expensive food but most everything is just the same SYSCO slop made by high schoolers or addicts

Food gets increasingly more r-slurred as it gets more expensive. When the food starts to arrive tiny on a big plate you know you're being fricked.

Frick me I once got trapped at one of those elite money grabs, and I swear to god each of the like 10 tiny courses was some sort of flavored foam. At the very end I thought they gave me a cake pop, and I was so excited to bite into it and have solid food…only to discover, yes, it was also foam.
Because ten foam samplings isn't exactly filling, I got McDonalds on the way back—then ended up throwing up from combining a cheeseburger with 20 types of flavored foam.
And that's why I'm a home cook.
