That's a tough call. For the most part I agree with you, it was more anti-groupthink, or even maybe just anti-US in general? But a lot of people consider it to be anti-war, and it's definitely shaded closer to that than Deer Hunter or any of those John Wayne/Audie Murphy flicks.
