Snyder sucks, but at least he has a unique style and most directors can't really say that these days.

Roland Emmerich too. Why in the frick doesn't he get taken at least as seriously :marseybruh2: as capeshit :marseykangtheconqueror: directors? Independence :marseysaluteconfederacy: Day is fun and Stargate is actually :marseyakshually: pretty :marseyglam: good.

Most people don't even know the name of most capeshit directors :marseyshrug: . Like do you know Peyton Reed or Jon Watts? Thought so.

The handful of capeshit directors who do have name recognition like Nolan, Raimi or Del Toro completely mog Emmerich.

I remember when Nolan :marseyhesright: was that new guy who made Memento who everyone :marseynorm: expected so much from. He's been incredibly disappointing.

He's been a considerably better director since then :tayshrug:. You could maybe argue Memento is his best script still but overall I see nothing but improvement.

My neighbor :marseysnappynraged: in Christ:

he's better :marseysaulgoodman: at all the important stuff but not minor :marseyminer: details like the script

:marseysurejan: Direction, editing, score are all important and arguably more important than the script when combined. You would have a point if I said his screenplays have turned to shit :marseysquint: . To give an example, I would put Oppenheimer one notch below Memento on Screenplay but several notches above in everything else. Hence, overall a better film.

Even in terms of scripts the prestige is better anyway.

I just coincidentally was flipping :marseyfuckyou: channels on tv and saw the opening of Watchmen. This is some of the most vile millennial trash :marseyopossum: I've ever seen. We were the bad guys in WW2? Lesbians made out in public and then got chopped up like in Foxe's Book of Martyrs? MAGAtards are right :marseygasden: about the Kennedy :marseyjfk: assassination?

This guy is completely fricking :marseyfuckingfunny: unhinged. Which I can forgive if you make Topkapi or Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, but I'm not going :marseysal2: to pretend the capeshit :marseyfunkobox: this tard is slinging is of any value.

Interstellar is pretty good. Ignore that "muh daughter portals" artificial drama shit and it's great.

The part where :marseydrama: they where :marseydrama: he talks to random people about the dustbowl like it's a documentary was very off-putting to me. If they're only relevant to the beginning of the movie :marseykishibecarp: then cut them out.

Also my grandmother :marseybabushka: was kind of pissed :marseyannoyed: off at people in the east coast :marsey2pac: media :marseyjourno: exaggerating certain things back then to sell more books.

I'll take any weirdness over the same generic sequel. My bigger issue is whether Snyder really is that unique.

If I see a trailer for Michael Bay movie, I can recognize it almost instantly. This thing though, honestly just looks like another shat out space action garbage Netflix likes to pad their library with.

The only constant in Snyder movies are his shallow characters and seemingly childish understanding of the world.

I've always praised Michael Bay :#marseymissile:
