Cheesy Netflix & Hallmark holiday romance movies. The only good thing about "Hot Frosty" was when Lacey Chabert turned on the TV and it was a clip from Lindsay Lohan's cheesy Netflix holiday movie from last year, and Lacey says something like, "She looks exactly like a girl I went to high school with."

Was over parents' all week and last weekend, started watching Breaking Bad because dad couldn't believe I've never seen it.
1.5 seasons in and it's alright I guess. Skyler is insufferable and I hate every scene with her in it. Everyone else is just ok at best. I like Jesse. I don't feel very strongly about anything in the show and I'm confused as to how this was such a huge cultural thing.
To further secure my pleb credit, we also watched the first two episodes of Dune Prophecy and I quite liked those.
Walt was poor because he was a social r-slur. Sold his shares because of pride, broke up with is rich girlfriend because he couldn't stand her being richer than him. He worked for Sandia Labs but somehow managed to end up as some HS teacher.
Even after his Grey Matter shit he could have finished his PhD and get a cushy job on Academia (probably on Caltech or maybe some Ivy League university) or in industry which paid well and included a nice medical insurance.
Skyler is just a consequence of ditching Gretchen.

Idk if this is a hot take or not but I like Walt Jr so far
He's a sympathetic character but people often find him annoying or one dimensional. If you're halfway through the second season I don't think my favorite character has been introduced yet.
Skylar sucks and she's not fun but she's also objectively in the right for the season or two. Walt endangers his family and lies to them constantly to commit crimes because he'd rather kill people and make meth than get a real job with his ex business partner or take a handout from his brother in law.
His name should have been Walter black, because he's an absolute BIPOC. But he's also an extremely fun protagonist to root for.
It was a huge thing because of the quality of the show and structure of the narrative relative to what else was on TV at the time. I like it still, but there's def a nostalgia factor.
Plus most of the over it is from ppl who otherwise thought Survivor was the height of television excellence.

S1 was alright. A lot of mystery, hints of lovecraftian horror, unique setting.
S2 nosedives. Plot point and magical elemets are brushed aside so we can focus on teen drama and relationship drama of all things. Main characters have plot armor so thick, they can survive a shotgun blast (literally), then sprint 5 miles. A lot of "this main character dies... But not actually it was just a dream haha bazinga!" S1 establishes a character as a psychotic killer, only to 180 and try to redeem her, look how mean everyone is to her she was just confused she only killed like 4 people but now she feels sad and ostricized

Show sucks shit in the first season, gets kinda tolerable in the second. 3 and beyond is absolutely top top top tier and you WILL like it. You do have to suffer through 1 and 2 though in order to appreciate it.
I found a site that has tons of seasons of live action Japanese superhero shit, which I love, so I'm watching the current season of Kamen Rider (very enjoyable), and binge watching previous seasons (also fun).

Watched Exhuma (2024). It was recommended to me as the next Wailing but it was nowhere near close. It was intriguing at first but fizzled out halfway through.
FROM season 3 finale was great, lots of stuff was actually finally revealed. It's a shame this show isn't watched by more people it's locked behind MGM+ streaming service which nobody wants to pay for.
I've never thought any of the seasons were slogs tbh they're only 10 episode seasons. But if you thought S2 was somehow boring then I hate to say S3 is more of the same.
I get useless subplots that lead nowhere, nothingburgers and shit that gets forgotten about...
But it's literally just relationship drama, teen drama/teen angst, and lesbian x junkie drama.
The vampires didn't kill anyone in like 7 episodes bro.
I don't care how hard they try, cicadas can't kill a human person they can't even bite or scratch.
This season's monster was a literal music box. Main character literally limped after a shotgun blast and smashed it to pieces.
It killed an immortal vampire but it cannot kill a junkie and an angsty teenager.
Main character's armor so thick he can survive a shotgun blast and a venomous spider bite.
The show's so bad bro. How do you come back from this? How is it even horror when main characters are never under any threat? Literally as scary as a Disney haunted hause attraction. You must be stunted or 13 to enjoy this show.
Eh yeah Boyd getting a shotgun blast to the shoulder and just shaking it off was pretty lame tbh. The cicada and the hostages in the dungeon leads to more in S3 but it's not resolved. There's a ton of reveals in S3 tho where they explain stuff about what's going on (the symbol, bottle tree, who the children are and who the monsters are) and some big deaths or at least one.
I enjoyed it as well. It's far from a perfect show but the horror and mystery is still fun. They could very easily frick up the ending with a show like this but I am along for the ride.
What I like about it the most I think is that unlike every other show like it the characters actually disclose things that have happened to them a compare notes, or get angry about how absurd shit is like Jade yelling at the kids to give him more info than "just fricking Anghkooey!"
Watching House, in s4 rn. The one joy of being spoiled about house is knowing the blonde b-word in s4 gets killed and cameron is gone for a while. Kinda miss Chase though

You're perpetuating harmful language even after being told it's harmful. If you don't understand why it's harmful, or my very clear explanations aren't good enough for you, look it up. Maybe someone else will be able to teach you how not to be rude, but you clearly aren't actually engaging in my argument, so I'm done with you.
Seriously, though, try and be better. And look it up if you don't understand what I'm saying, because this is a real issue and ignoring it after it's been revealed to you would make you willfully ignorant, rather than just the not knowing something type of ignorant, which everyone is about hundreds of topics, and is not a bad thing. Being unwilling to learn when you discover there might be an issue is exactly one of the main problems that perpetuates the patriarchy and racism. It's easier to be a bigot than to correct your thinking, I get it, but just try.
