Yeah, if the DISCO crowd had any talent (but that's a contradiction in terms), the character of Captain Phillipa Georgiou could have been great: a better Janeway. But of course they had to go full-tilt for the most stupid and offensive version possible. Kill her off fast, give her a terrible end, and bring her back as Mirrorverse Evil Empress so they can be all edgy and cool.

Cynthia Rothrock made lots of movies in Hong Kong around the 1980s. She had to move there because nobody in Hollywood gives a shit if a woman can actually do martial arts. Why would you? You can just have some 90lb waif punch the bad guy in the face and knock him out and everyone will cheer for girl power.

It's not great but the martial arts scenes are really good and there's a lot of them. Oh and some jokes about how all the pervy Chinese guys are trying to seduce the white woman because she's white.
I guess I've only seen a few of her movies from back in China. I'd recommend Supercop (a typical Jackie Chan movie) and The Heroic Trio (a batshit insane superhero movie).
