I hate Captain America 4 because I hate capeshit. It was slop even when starring Chris Evans but now they have an un-charismatic actor as the main character and you have to watch a bunch r-slurred shows to understand, this is too much for normie audiences looking for a mindless fun action flick.

Iron Man (2008) was a fun action flick. Capeshit became worse as crossovers and spin offs became more frequent and they all repeated the same formula, it got flanderized as a franchise, I think Guardians of the Galaxy was an inflection point for marvelshit. A blockbuster about a former chubby burger who has a Walkman and features a talking raccoon firing a gun from a sentient tree, it was the culmination of marvelification.
My vote for underrated capeshit goes to "Man of Steel", it was a decent action movie which got a cold shoulder from critics (57% on Rotten Tomatoes), despite at the time you had the silliest marvel slop with the same lame "humor" getting 90%+ scores and
from critics and onlinecels.

Infinity War is likely the best Marvel movie
It's genuinely a good movie, not too much stupid quipping, the formula isn't the same as the villain wins
Of course, Endgame comes in and r*pes everything good about the first movie, but Infinity War as a standalone movie is as good as it gets

Superman as a character is quite dull no matter the adaptation. It's a consequence of him being an ideal more than a person.

@johannesalthusius, in the first Avengers somehow a guy with explosive arrows, another with super strength using a metal shield, and a foid with a gun are more effective than fighter jets, missiles and tanks when fighting against generic aliens on flying-motorcycles. At the end the bad guys are defeated with a nuke which puts into question the entire utility of "superheroes".
In Man of Steel every single piece of military hardware, including nukes are entirely pointless. The kryptonians are virtually gods, near the end all humans can do is watch and cross their fingers that Superman wins the fight because otherwise they're completely fricked. At least that film legitimately raised the stakes (despite boring heroes and Pa Kent's character assassination).
