I've been thinking a lot.

disney has a consistent enough money printer doing soulless 'live action adaptations' of their whole back catalog

they could probably

hand a 100 million dollars every year to some random guy off the internet

to just do whatever. completely hands off

and every year it would be better than anything the industry has produced in the last 20 :marseyindignant:

what I'm saying is I've got an idea :marseybigbrain:

Paramount did essentially that by funding seven low budget movies instead of one high-budget, six flopped but the seventh, An Officer and a Gentleman, made enough to fund the whole project. Then they said they wouldn't try it again :marseyconfused:

I think a very sick ideology strangles all of them. not really left or right. just anti-human, anti-beauty, anti-aspirational

walt disney had a viseon. yeah, disney had to prove itself back then, but

I cant help but feel like the people in the 20th century wanted to make exceptional, beautiful things. and get bread doing it sure :platyrich:

everything today feels so aimless. shambling corpses of media, led by no one, building to nowhere, inspired by nothing but a memory of a memory of that glorious past. :marseysad:
