I saw Prey so you don't have to (Edit: massive chuddery in comments... :marseydisagree:)

Predator prequel. There is a direct link between this film and Predator 2.

It was, to be fair, pretty good. The sort of people who think any film featuring a predominantly BIPoC cast is the literal genocide of the white race will be upset, especially when white people do show up in the movie and they're French.

The Predator itself is pretty cool. I think it might be one of the new ones from the movie Predators and it has some nifty new gadgets.

The CGI animals are excellent and the cinematography is v. nice- shades of both Dances With Wolves and Last of the Mohichans. This is also true of the soundtrack which is great.

Film has enough gore to keep people happy and the new Predator daisy cutter mines are satisfying AF.

Questions will abound as to how a legacy foid could do the things this one does- especially her highly-improbable hatchet-on-a-rope thing- but Arnie survived a fall of 30ft into 5ft of water in the first one so frick it: stop being an incel. Also I find this chick to be a far more plausible Predator-killer than Danny Glover sweating everywhere and whispering to himself while fencing fatly with a frisbee like in no. 2.

The ending is surprisingly satisfying and the trap she lays is better than the, frankly shit, one Arnie made in the first film.

Spoiler for doggo-lovers because spent the whole film fretting over whether the pittie-mix thing she has would survive and enough animals die in this film to make it plausible that they might kill this one off:

The dog survives

Finally: there is no post credits sequence so don't waste your time watching the credits. Image is from said credits- why are there so many people nowadays called 'Beavers'?

Are you serious? I’m never taking movie recommendations from anyone on this site again.

She turns into Neo with her rope-hatchet, after practicing for 10 minutes on a tree. Whereas a day prior, she couldn’t come close to hitting a deer. But now she can hit 5 rabbits in a row.

The Predator completely abandons stealth halfway through the movie, steps on a bear trap that wasn’t even hidden, and gets its butt kicked by her brother.

She goes toe to toe with the Predator and doesn’t get immediately ragdolled when he strikes her (the same Predator one-punched a bear into unconsciousness prior in the movie). I guess because she “blocked it”?

She sets the trap, aimed SO PRECISELY that the Predator walks into it and gets perfectly shot in the head.

They basically made the Predator an r-slur for the sake of this movie.

The only redeeming quality is that it killed a bunch of fr*nch people. The CGI animals were also solid.

Redditors are like “but it was the predators first hunt!!!!”

Curious.

Logic would dictate that for you to make this post on this thread, it would mean that you took OP's recommendation and went to watch Prey, yet between the OP's thread and your comment, the difference is less than an hour.

Unless you happen to be living right next to a cinema, the movie has 30 minutes and a screening was just about to start, there is no way that you actually managed to watch this movie.

Thus I can only conclude that you are a liar, and are trying to purposely soil the name of a movie with brave BIPOCs in it :marseyshapiro:

I will give you 1 hour to edit your comment and replace it with a composition about the importance of BIPOC representation in cinema and the showing of Fr*nch mayocide. :soyjakanimeglasses: Otherwise your comment will be reported to the janitorial structure of this website that will deal with you in proper manner.

There was one point where the Predator choke slams the girl, but instead of her sternum collapsing from the force and the movie ending, she gets up and turns into Rey Mysterio and Hurricurana’s the Predator.

I wish I was exaggerating.

Predator two a skinny black man beat the Predator to death. So just saying it is within acceptable parameters for the franchise.

The Predator's weakness is city pollution.

I was on mushrooms and it was pretty cool. Compared to most the trash that comes out it was relatively entertaining. Stop thinking about it so much.

On shrooms the movie probably would have been good.

Lots of nature, and the action scenes, while completely unbelievable, were at least filmed well.

It's nice of you to post this an' all but the film isn't in theaters and was shunted straight onto Hulu (because 20th C. Fox was bought by the Mouse so they can get the Capeshit).

You watch new movies in streaming services instead of the cinema? What are you? Some kind of poor person? You also used to buy straight to DVD movies?

Whenever a new movie that I want to watch shows up at the cinema, I spend 10 euros to watch it in a big screen with popcorn in hand, like normal human beings. If it doesn't feature in cinema, then I give it a 1 on IMDB and don't bother to watch it. :marseypopcorn:
