Still on my reread of Harry Potter, 3rd book now. I feel like the HBO show would benefit a lot from rewriting the first few books heavily to make everything more consistent, but I doubt Rowling would let them. Also, I wonder if ppl would scream about "muh canon" in this case like thry did with witcher, lotr and so on :marseythinkorino: !commenters what do u think?

I think they should rewrite the last few books to make everything less consistent!

Wizards shouldn't make sense!

I would enjoy it because it would be fun to see how they'd rewrite it. I'm not sure i'd enjoy it because of the politics behind it.

Jump in the discussion.

What do you think the politics are going to be?

Gonna be shitlib. They're going to make Ron fat, Hermione a black women, the professor in the back of the classroom who tells you to turn your phones off, will be gay.

The 9 books would be rewritten into 10, I would be a character, I would be a BIPOC and Ron would be white. Hermione would come out as trans and start referring to herself as Jemmy.

That sounds wild!!!

There would be a plot point where Harry defeats Voldemort, but then Rowling reveals in a mid-credit scene that they were working in tandem the whole time.

BB I would actually read this if you were a character in it because you are truly magical.

I'm more of a "Dumbledore" type. I use my spells and my powers to get the ladies. Dumbledore doesn't do that. He is a nice guy.

Ron should get a peepee chop and an Adam's apple shoved in his butt. So everyone can truly relate to how he feels.

I'm curious what you would rewrite? quirrell and riddle seem obvious issues but idk the best way to do it.

A ton lol. The dursleys, the stone protection, quidditch, a lot of the magic, apparating, the teachers...

If you want to tank their economic development and therefore generate an even more massive emigration (they'll certainly go to Australia in larger numbers), then sure.

Do you enjoy short tales?

I'm reading a Chekov's collection (Penguin editions), they're very simple and well written.

And if you like Russian literature, Nabokov recommended "Petersburg" by Andrei Bely which I haven't read yet.

The dialog is cringe, like it was written by someone making fun of a marvel movie.

It relies way too much on the extended universe shit. Hope you've been keeping up with the other 16 books he put out or ur gonna be confused by some of these plot points.

Probably shouldn't do this but I'm debating on writing a book on what I've read so far on domestic affairs in the USA. Sounds whack but I unironically could not be more specific without doxerino.

Either that or I'm doing my PhD thesis early and I'll just do the book later. Who tf knows.

Finished "the city and its uncertain wall" by murakami, I don't think it's his best work but it seems like it was cathartic for him to be able to finish a story he started in the 80s.

It wouldn't be my recommendation for a first murakami book but it's up there. Much more grounded than some of his other work.

Need to watch 100 years of solitude on netflix, I might read that after watching season 1. apparently the show increased the economy of the country they shot it in by like 50 million dollars.
