I made a post listing artists I found and could recommend in /h/marsey here: https://rdrama.net/h/marsey/post/94534/have-some-spare-cash-want-to

But it was a lot of work. I was browsing reddit and deviantart for days and compiling art that I liked, checking the source, and seeing if the source artist offered commissions. The overwhelming majority didn't. There's also subreddits dedicated to artists for hire but most of them were honestly terrible. This one I found on an artists for hire sub and he was one of the few I thought were good.

Misread your post a bit. To pay, I did use my paypal. I communicated through a burner gmail account until we came to an agreement. All the artists I commissioned were professional artists and not dramatards, with the sole exception of Dramarama. Dramarama did figure out a way to create a burner paypal so she could receive my payment without me knowing her info. You should ask her about that.
