Because I'm an irl leftoid and have dr certified longpost syndrome (unironic, non-meme autism), I trigger longpostbot about once per visit.

I'm curious on how difficult it would be to get longpostbot to keep stats. It seems like it would be fairly easy to keep a leaderboard for how many lifetime longposts each person has gotten (just go back through longpostbot's comment history and count up each person they've replied to, then save that number and update it for each new reply)

It would therefore be easy to get a leaderboard for their lifetime "% longposts": just divide each person's number of longposts by their total number of comments (assuming longpostbot can see that information in their profile).

but other stats that might be more difficult, like longposts across all accounts (which would out alts), or longposts per day active, or longposts per comment for only the last 2 weeks.

Since forever, people have not been including snippets from Reddit comments directly in their post, often citing issues like "effort" and "time". In order to promote equity on the site, I have created a Tampermonkey script (which can also be run as a bookmarklet) to make this process significantly easier and faster.

As seen in the image below, the script will add the "copy" link next to the bottom links for each comment. The first button clicked will set the parent comment, and the second one clicked will set the child and automatically copy the comments (as markdown) in-between (inclusive on both end) to the clipboard .

Performing those actions on the comments visible in the image yields the following snippet.

I think maybe there's just too many posts there now, and not enough photoshopping, and also the images that get upvoted the most are the images that are just most interesting but maybe not the best candidates for photoshopping. Also maybe the latest versions of photoshop are a bit too much effort to pirate, and the open source alternatives, while awesome, are just a bit lacking in their user interfaces. They're good enough to prevent me from bothering to purchase or pirate photoshop, but they're bad enough that I'll give up on a photoshop idea before its good enough for me to want to post it anywhere.

The code is currently only set up for old Reddit, but if enough people are interested in it, I'll make one for Nu-Reddit () too. If you are a non-technical user and you want to use this as well, then create a new bookmark in your browser and set the url to be javascript with a colon : at the end and then copy-paste the code. If you click the the bookmark while you're on Reddit, it will run the code and add the copy links.

Drama s have been dming me asking why I blocked their precious hole. The reason is because the badmins removed the Filter Holes button from the homepage and while im sure theyre lovely I dont want to see your chinchilla photos or hear about the /h/edgy anniversary party. Holes are communities and i dont like communities.
