It's a bullshit argument because Judaism argues that the life of the pregnant woman is more valuable than the life of the fetus if the fetus' birth will kill the mother. The reasoning is the mother can birth again but if she dies during childbirth then society loses a babymaker. I don't see any state forcing a woman to give birth if that means the woman will die from labor. Also, this was when women were giving birth in 110 degrees heat n the family's straw bed with a midwife nearby. Pregnancy-related deaths have gone down significantly with modern medicine.

It's also a bullshit argument because Employment Division v. Smith states that you can ban actions that happen to be religious practices so long as you are not specifically targeting that religion.
