By mere coincidence, a group of Hank Green fans (of vlogbrothers, scishow, crash course, etc) were building a logo of Green's catchphrase, "Don't Forget To Be Awesome", abbreviated to "DFTBA". Some of our boys made a speech arrow from the logo, making it look like marsey was saying it.

There's our girl!

As fate would have it, Hank was browsing /r/place himself, and spotted her, leading him to make a tweet where he pointed her out. The official reddit twitter account agreed that Marsey is best girl, and called her "a masterpiece", which is just amazing.

Marsey Gets Fricking Killed

Somehow or another, chtorrr found out about our exploits, and started fuming. If you didn't know, chtorrr is a reddit admin and professional killjoy, who has had many run-ins with the drama community. (TODO: More information about our relationship with chtorrr) She was also responsible for shuttering 2balkan4you. Worst of all, she is a *gasp* white woman.

At one point, added RDRAMA.NET to marsey, and this was the last straw. Remember how I said people could only place one pixel every five minutes? Well, Chtorr and Redtaboo were able to place pixels with no cooldown, a feature that they used to erase marsey. Luckily, @Vultures caught her in the act.

Then, they banned people that participated in drawing marsey. Proving this is kind of tricky, so for proof see this post by at @Noahface for the receipts. (If you were banned, let me know and I will add you) (Edit: There is a theory that people were banned based on a referrer link that was accidentally left in @DrTransmisia's template app)

Soyrage

Where some saw defeat, others saw the possibility for greatness. One of us (lmk if you know who) posted the above video to /r/place, and redditors were fricking PISSED. One thread pointing the marseycide out got over 140K updoots. The post was eventually jannied, but several more took their place. The moderators couldn't catch a break.

(Edit: Shoutout to /r/socialjusticeinaction mods for being one of the first to break the story, despite the possibility of being banned)

Meanwhile, chtorrr dox was posted on Kiwi Farms. No one from rdrama has taken responsibility for this yet, so it may be an organic result of the seethestorm. To be fair to everyone involved, chtorrr herself participated in a "mod summit" where her face and name was said publicly, so she kind of doxxed herself.

A "blackout" was planned, but didn't go anywhere because we were only able to get drama-adjacent meme subs to join. gayspiderbrothel was allegedly going to nuke their sub by posting chtorrr dox, but we apparently have an impostor amogus because all of the mods were replaced. Epic OPSEC fail, whoever posted about this on the website. (We unironically need a secret rdrama division for doing more cloak and dagger shit)

Janitors strike back

The jannies weren't going to take this sitting down, of course. Based Bardfinn had some true schizo moments. In one thread, he accused us of conspiring to kill chtorrr. In another, she demands that a user sit down and read the rules right now, darnit and continues to insist that the video was fake.

The less well-known but equally valid Merari01 had a meltdown as well. He started out strong, hilariously claiming that marsey is a neo-nazi hate symbol. He continued his meltdown on slack, where various people attempted to calm him down with rightoid dogwhistles like "common sense", but he saw straight through those pieces of russian propaganda.

Out of nowhere, Merari smugposted in the comment section of one of carps post about him. (Yes, it was actually him - @Joan told him what was happening). Before he disappeared into the aether, he posted the hate symbol twerking. (Carp speculated that he didn't make any more posts because he didn't realize he couldn't delete them)

Marsey: Rebirth

This wasn't the end of marsey on /r/place, however! The gang bravely made a new one. @Suprememe https://rdrama.net/post/57343/-, a URL that currently redirects to https://www.supportukraine.co, and the gang added it to the new marsey. Last I heard it was getting swallowed by green goo, but that's just par on course for /r/place, rather than a concerted effort by the admins.

EDIT: Peace was made with the goo, and Marsey lived until the end of /r/place
