I FRICKING LOVE PARTICLE ACCELERATORS :marseyletsfuckinggo2:

They're like huge city-sized guns that shoot the tiniest objects known to man into one another to make them fricking explode and create even more small fricking particles that cascade into a shower of reactions and explosions!

This is the same mindset that made our ancestors bang rocks together until they made fire, it stimulates the same part of the brain and is fricking masculine as shit! :marseychadyes:

I wish WWIII started or some alien invasion happened so we could find an excuse to put these motherlovers on rails or mechs and fricking shoot them at stuff!

Love how scientists are just like "hey we need a giant underground circle" and politicians are like "gotchu fam"

wherever you wanna build one of that size on earth it's gonna be super difficult.

but you can build it on the moon, in a big circle all around the moon.

What does making it even bigger get us?

Put a ramp off the end and use it to shoot aliens.

higher energy collisions means we can detect smaller stuff.

is it worth the huge cost? imho the $20B for the next larger proposed collider on earth would be better spent on AI alignment. if in 100 years we still exist and still haven't found a cheaper way to investigate subatomic particles, we can build one around the moon.

So you can't build a more powerful gun you need space for it to accelerate?

I think the problem is keeping the particles going in a circle. The smaller the circle is, the stronger magnets you need.

btw: the map (first image) in my link, comparing moon to earth, is completely wrong. the moon's diameter is 27% of earth's.

Noooo we have to waste the money on my grift :marseysoycry:

We should spend all that money on nukes to nuke us back to monke, and then have some spare nukes left for aliens.
