Reminds me of this documentary, I forgot if it was on netflix or elsewhere talking about these blue zones and its focus was on their diets being the key there was something about it that smelled bullshit but I didnt know enough on the subject to call it out. Now I know, thanks!

I remember being a sick kid and there was an oprah episode on TV about some blue zone in central america, about how "cooking lunch is like a mini work out" because they have to chop and grate vegetables :marseyeyeroll:

Why do people want to live so long anyway? Life in old age is shit, after 85 it's universally shit.

There are in good health 85> year olds, you just have to work out a lot to combat sarcopenia.

The big selling point is that centenarians supposedly age slower, as opposed to merely having more years of being extremely old and feeble. The idea that you can have an extra 20 years of life at the quality of an average 40- or 50-year-old sounds pretty good to most people.

They age slower until 77-80 and then no matter what you've done up until that point, you're old with all the health problems old people have and are on your butt for 80% of the day.

This was a problem before computers. I'm going to be emulating PS2 in the old farts' home until I die and they can pry the controller from my cold dead hands.

I am hoping when we get old we can just upload ourselves into second life and donate our brains to some wet network

Who wants a rotting old senile brain for their network? Give me some fresh 23 YO's. And some adrenochrome while you're at it.
