Reminder that theres only like a billion Westerners and like 60% are not down for the LGBT alphabet :marseyiff: salad, in a global population of 8 billion, so a company figuring out that pandering to at best 400k people out of 8 billion that aren't reproducing, have poor financials and rarely leave :marseypeaceout: the house :marseyfemboymerchant: isn't a good financial decision then redditors :marseyhammersrdine: should :marseynorm: just make their own global international media :marseyjourno: company.

Beyond having hired a bunch of millenial/zoomer :genderspecial: employees I wonder if the number of single people going to the parks :marseydisney: influenced their decision making? Prices are so high now that I kinda doubt I'll ever take my kids, which is a shame, since I do love amusement parks. :donkeykongtoboggan:

I saw a recent California Disneyland video :marseyzeldamidna: and the food there  sucks balls now. It was like 75% adults and 25% kids running :marseychaser: around. Shits over. Kids also absolutely do not give a flying :marseynyanlgbt: frick about Starshit :marseystarwars: just like Asia.

Disneyland Hong Kong, Tokyo and Shanghai have much better :marseysaulgoodman: food quality :marseycertified: but thats probably because its still operated by Ricecels who believe :marseyparappa: Disney :marseymike: is still a premier brand and thus require premier workers and foodstuffs and are still doubling-down on attractive princesses and shit.

Are the princesses Asian in those Disney parks? Or do they import hottie westerners to play them?

For older kids and adults, definitely. I do think that Disney's dark rides and offerings for younger children :marseycrayoneater: make it a special experience... just not one I'd shell five figures out for.

Universal is unironically better :marseysaulgoodman: for Gen Alpha/Gen Z kids IMHO.

Mario Kart ride, Harry :marseyhermione: Potter :marseyhermione: thing, Jurassic Park ride, Transformer ride, the Water :marseykayak: World :marseyww1british1: thing that still does pyrotechnics and the studio tour thing is pretty :marseyglam: cool.

Even with plane tickets + hotel I think it'd be difficult to spend five figures unless you're eating their food for every meal or have a dozen kids. Last time I was there was pre-covid though.

I think them catering to the Disney adults is a bigger issue tbh. Epcot is the worst offender, it's become basically a bar crawl.

Vacations to Disney World are like 10k now for a family of four with hotel+park tickets.

another driving force behind a lot of r-slurred DEI shit is 70 year old buttholes who back in the day did a lot of stuff that they now regret, and they try to absolve themselves by forcing DEI nonsense on society. Like the dudes in charge of Blackrock market manipulation were rising through the ranks in the 1980s, back when corporate culture in many businesses still had sexism and racism, and they combine their outdated life experience perception with activist pseudoresearch of today to arrive at their idiotic conclusions about the world.

I think a lot of it is a cynical version of ladder pulling. Does DEI ever actually affect white men in established careers? It just seems like they're kneecapping the younger talented asian and white careers and surrounding themselves with mediocre BIPOCs, so even at 70 they appear to be the most competent people in the room.

For all their money, the one thing that terrifies aged corporate types is a forced retirement. Not only does it take their purpose away, after decades of ordering people around they can't handle the "lol okay gramps, time for the retirement home".
